Boat Builder Indonesia

On the shores of South Sulawesi, Bugis shipwrights have shaped ironwood and teak for centuries. We give discerning owners a managed path to their own phinisi — traditional soul, modern standards of safety and comfort, from first sketch to launch.

Why Indonesia

Why commission your yacht here

A phinisi from Sulawesi carries a provenance no production yard can match — and far more hand-finished craft for the same budget.

At the southern tip of Sulawesi, phinisi rise from the white sand of Tana Beru and Ara — often half a dozen at once. Long ties with artisan families put your build in trusted hands.

FAQ

Questions owners ask

The essentials of building a phinisi in Indonesia.

View all questions
How long does a phinisi take to build?

Typically 18 to 30 months, depending on size and complexity. The hull alone takes 8 to 12 months.

What does a custom phinisi cost?

A 35-metre luxury charter phinisi starts from around USD 1.5 million; 45 to 50-metre yachts from USD 3 million.

Will my yacht be classified?

Yes. Builds target Indonesian BKI classification, and components can be surveyed to RINA or Bureau Veritas requirements.

What is your role in the project?

We act as your owner’s representative and project manager — contracts, quality control, technical supervision, budgets and reporting.

Can I visit the shipyard?

You are encouraged to, typically at keel laying, hull completion and launch. We arrange all the logistics.
